SHOCK IT TO ME! is San Francisco’s premiere classic horror film festival devoted to the classic (and not so classic) gems from the Golden Age of horror cinema, inspired by our fond memories of the days when these fang-tastic films flooded Bay Area movie houses and television sets—our own terrifying tribute to KTVU-2’s “Creature Features” (with Bob Wilkins and John Stanley) and KEMO-20’s “Shock-It-To-Me Theatre” (with Asmodeus), with a touch of KBHK-44’s “The Ghoul Show”—if you will. SHOCK IT TO ME! is replete with horror hosts, and guest celebrities from these monstrous movies themselves, live on stage.
Born at the historic (and haunted) Castro Theatre, SHOCK IT TO ME! screens several double-bills of creepy classics at screamingly low prices in various theaters in San Francisco—but we’re not just any film festival! SHOCK IT TO ME! also hosts autograph sessions with our celebrity guests and features a vendors area for all of your monstrous needs. SHOCK IT TO ME! is a cross between a horror film festival and a monster movie convention!
But, that’s not all… There’s also the “undead entertainment”—just like the old-fashioned “spook shows”—including our infamous “Zombie-Eating” and “Frankenstein’s Brain-Toss” contests! Each year, the SHOCK IT TO ME! grue crew, as always, digs up a monster of a show that is guaranteed to pop the stitches off of a mummy’s britches—we pull out all of the stops (and a few bloody stakes) to make SHOCK IT TO ME! the most haunted happening of the Halloween season in San Francisco!
